Dignity is not a reward. It is a starting point.
PhiphyMak Rehabilitation Home Uganda was founded on 9 May 2024. We exist to restore dignity to people who have been pushed to the margins by violence, displacement and poverty.

Leadership
In May 2024, Phiona looked at the silence surrounding gender-based violence and the quiet struggles of refugees and single mothers in Uganda, and decided the silence had lasted long enough.
She did not wait for perfect conditions or large funding. She started with conviction, a small group of committed young professionals, and a refusal to accept that vulnerability should equal invisibility.
Today, under her leadership, PhiphyMak walks with survivors through skills training, medical care, psychosocial support, and the slow, necessary work of restoring dignity. She leads with both firmness and tenderness. The kind of leadership that does not need to raise its voice to be heard.
Phiona believes that rehabilitation is not only about healing what was broken. It is about giving people the tools and the space to rebuild on their own terms.
This organisation exists because she chose to begin.
